BEFORE MAINE: Letterwinner at Mayfield H.S. under head coach Leticia Sereceros... Served as a senior captain in 2006... Also played club softball for the Albuquerque Sol... Recorded 501 strikeouts during her high school career... Was named to the 2004 All-World First-Team and was named the MVP of the World Series in the Western Conference... Was named to the New Mexico Invitational All-Tournament team... Helped lead her team to the 2006 5A District Championship... Was named the MVP of the New Mexico All-Star game in 2006... Also played volleyball in high school... Earned her high school's academic award after earning a 4.0 GPA in 2006.
