IN 2010–2011: Served as assistant captain of the Black Bears… Led Maine in scoring with 18 goals and 33 assists for 51 points which currently ranks tied for seventh in the nation… Has six power play goals and two short handed tallies… Named Hockey East Association Player of the Month for February after he scored 10 goals and added four assists… Set a Maine school record earlier the season when he tallied a goal just six seconds into Maine’s game on Feb. 12 against Vermont… Currently has 50 goals and 94 assists for 144 career points in 113 games… Ranks tied for 17th on Maine’s all-time scoring list… Has currently played in 86 straight games for the Black Bears… Has tallied a point in 30 of Maine’s 36 games this seaso7… Has scoring streaks of 10 games, nine games and seven games this season… Has 15 multi-point games this season… Had a hat trick in Maine’s game at #6 New Hampshire on Feb. 4…. Has currently scored two points in each of his last seven games… Had two goals against Vermont (2/12) and at UMass Lowell (2/19)… named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner… nominated for the Dean Smith Award as Maine’s top scholar-athlete.  

 

IN 2009–10: Had one of the best season in Maine hockey history... Named to the Hobey Baker Hat Trick, as one of the three top players in the nation... Named a First Team RBK Hockey / AHCA Men’s Division I All-American... The 20th time in Maine hockey history that a player has been named a First Team All-American...  Named to the 2010 All-College Hockey News First Team... CollegeHockey247.com All-American First Team... Inside College Hockey All-America First Team... Nyquist was named runner-up for Hockey East Player of the Year and was the lone unanimous selection to the 2010 Hockey East First Team... Named to the Hockey East All-Tournament Team... Named to the ESPN The Magazine / CoSIDA District I Second Team... Led the nation in scoring with 19 goals and 42 assists for 61 points in 39 games... Averaged 1.56 points per game which led the country...  His 42 assists were tied for the national lead... Named the Athletic Republic Hockey East Player of the Month for December... Named to the 2009 Florida College Classic All-Tournament Team after leading Maine to the title... Ranked third in Hockey East’s Three Stars Award... His 61 points were the most for a Maine players since the 1998-99 season when Steve Kariya finished with 65... Tallied seven power play goals and four game-winners... Led a Maine team, picked to finish eighth in the 2009 Hockey East Preseason Poll, to a tie for third place in the regular season standings, and a season-high national rank of 12th... A member of Maine’s first power play unit, which led the nation, scoring at a 27.7 percent clip with the man advantage... Maine’s power play was 3.8 percent higher than Yale, who ranked second in the nation at 23.9 percent... Has had point-scoring streaks of 10 games, and two seven games streaks... Tallied a point in 32 of 39 games on the season... Had a goal and four assists for a career-best five points in Maine’s 8-4 win over UMass Lowell (2/19)... Scored two goals and added two assists in Maine’s 5-1 win at Merrimack (2/27)... Tallied a goal and dished out three assists in Maine’s 10-1 win over St. Lawrence (11/28)... Scored a goal and added two assists in Maine’s games against Michigan State (10/16), Princeton (12/29) and Vermont (1/29)...  Scored a goal and added an assist against Boston College in the Hockey East Title Game (3/20)... Named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner... Named to the Hockey East Academic Honor Roll.

IN 2008–09: Had an outstanding rookie season for the Black Bears... Named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team... Named Hockey East Rookie of the Month in December... Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week Nov. 3... Led the Black Bears in scoring with a team-high 13 goals and a team-best 19 assists for 32 points... Became the first freshman to lead the team in scoring since Paul Kariya during the 1992–93 season... Had five power play goals... Had seven multi-point games, including three three point games... Scored two goals and added an assist in Maine’s 6-3 win over top-ranked Boston University in the Hockey East quarterfinals... Scored a goal and added a pair of assists in Maine’s 4-2 win over Niagara (10/31)... Followed up with three assists the following night against the Purple Eagles (11/1)...  Had two goals in Maine’s 3-0 shutout of Providence (11/15)... Also scored a pair of goals in Maine’s 5-1 victory over Union (12/13)... Scored first goal in collegiate debut against Alaska Anchorage (10/17)... Also notched goals against Providence (11/14), Vermont (11/29), Merrimack (12/7), Boston University (2/14), and Boston University (3/15)... Named a Maine Scholar-Athlete *Rising Star* and named to the Hockey East Academic Honor Roll. 

BEFORE MAINE: Played for Roger Ohman and the Malmo Red Hawks... Scored 11 goals and added 20 assists during the 2007–08 season... Also played in 14 International games over four seasons where he scored two goals and added two assists... During the 2006–07 season,  played in 42 games where he scored 21 goals and added 23 assists... His Allsvenshan team placed second in 2005–06... Finished third academically in his high school class... Drafted in the fourth round, 121st overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings.

PERSONAL: An economics major... Born Sept. 1, 1989... Son of Eva and Fredrik Nyquist... Has a sister, Caroline, and a brother, Oscar.
