2008-09: Had a solid junior season...Named to the America East All-Academic Team for the second-consecutive season...Named to the America East Academic Honor Roll and earned a gold medal for being a three-time Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner...Selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court...Fourth in America East in assist-to-turnover ratio...Had a great all-around game with 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists against Northern Illinois (11/14)...Dished out six assists against Kennesaw St. (11/15)...Scored 10 points to go with five assists and four rebounds at Providence (11/22)...Had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds against UMPI (12/4)...Poured in 17 points, six rebounds and five assists against Colgate (12/8)...Notched a great all-around game with 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists against Binghamton (1/3)...Followed that up with another great game against Stony Brook with 12 points, six assists and four rebounds...Scored nine points to go with six rebounds and six assists against New Hampshire (1/19)...Had eight points, seven reboounds and six assists with no turnovers versus Boston University (1/25)...Had 10 points and three assists at Vermont (1/28)...Scored 16 points to go with six rebounds at Albany (2/22)...Dished out six assists to go with 12 points against Vermont (3/1).

2007-08: Had a fantastic sophomore year...Named to the prestigious "Team Maine" for being an outstanding Maine scholar-athlete...Also named to the five-player America East All-Academic team...Led the team in assists with 3.0 per game...Third on team with 10.8 points per game and also the third leading rebounder returning with 4.7 boards per game...Scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds in first game of season against Richmond (11/5)...Followed that up with 13 points and six rebounds against Tennessee-Martin (11/6)...Nearly had a triple-double with 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in overtime victory against St.Francis (11/17)...Played a solid all-around game with 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals in win at Quinnipiac (11/20)...Tied his career-high with 19 points against New Jersey Tech...Went 6-for-11 from the field in the game...Played an excellent all-around game with 17 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals against Mt. 2006-07: Had a great rookie campaign for Maine... One of three players and lone freshman to start all 30 games... Ranked fourth on the team and tops among returners in scoring, averaging 9.9 points per game... Averaged 3.9 rebounds a game and 2.8 assists per game... Connected on three of four three-point field goals... Scored 18 points in his collegiate debut at Harvard (11/11/06)... Recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 assists in Maine's win over the College of St. Joseph (11/22/06)... Also recorded five steals in the game... Had 18 points and four steals at Nevada (12/28/07)... Scored a career-high 19 points at Stony Brook (1/25/07)... Hit 8-of-11 shots from the floor and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line... Scored 12 points and grabbed a career-high six steals in Maine's game at UMBC (2/22/07)... Had an outstanding performance in Maine's America East quarterfinal game against UMBC (3/3/07)... In 40 minutes of action, scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor... Grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds in the game... Dished out five assists and recorded two steals... Named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner and also named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.

2005-06: Sat out the 2005-06 season.

BEFORE MAINE: Captain for Ed Jones at Maine Central Institute where he played point guard... Attended the Hyde School in Bath, Maine, in 2003 where he led the team to the Western Maine Class D Championship game and earned Tournament MVP honors... Scored 1,524 points during his career at the Hyde School... Averaged 23 points, six assists, six rebounds and three steals per game at the Hyde School.

PERSONAL: A child and family development major... Son of Dancalis Garcia and Luis Bernal.
