Fredrick Gladney joins the Black Bears for his first season in 2026 where he will serve as their Wide Receivers Coach.
Prior to coming to Maine, he spent time as the Special Teams Coordinator, Wide Receivers Coach and Academic Coordinator at Mercyhurst University. While at Mercyhurst he was a part of the staff that helped the University transition from DII to DI. His receiving core was top-two in every receiving conference category during his first season, along with having the first All-Conference First Team wide receiver since 2014. His special team units ranked top-five in multiple conference categories.
He also spent time as the Special Teams Intern for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025 pre-season training camp.
From 2016-2023, he spent multiple seasons at Elizabeth State University (2022-23), Valparaiso University (2020-22), MacMurray College (2019-20) and Wisconsin Lutheran College (2016-19) where he had a variety of roles centered around the wide receiving and tight end postional groups.
