ORONO, Maine -- For the fourth time this spring, senior softball hurler Alexis Bogdanovich (South Portland, Maine) has garnered America East Pitcher of the Week accolades.
Bogdanovich went 2-0 over the weekend and played a key role in Maine's three-game sweep at UMass Lowell. The senior pitcher gave up just three runs and seven hits over 11.0 innings while striking out 21 and walking just two.
Bogdanovich was impressive in game one, tallying her fifth shutout of the season while fanning 13 and surrendering just one hit. Bogdanovich came back the following day and picked up a win in four innings of work, giving up three runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.
Bogdanovich continues to remain at the top of the league with a slim 1.87 ERA and an America East high 108 strikeouts over 89.2 innings.
The University of Maine is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2015. In conjunction with this, the athletic department will celebrate 150 student-athletes achievements over the next year.
