Jon Lynch is entering his first year with the University of Maine sports performance coaching staff.  Coach Lynch oversees the year round training programs for the Black Bear varsity Men’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, and Track and Field programs.  He also assists with the implementation of the Black Bear football training program.  Coach Lynch serves as the internship coordinator for the Black Bear sports performance staff. 

Jon Lynch comes to the University of Maine after a year-long stint as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Northeastern University.  In this role, he was primarily responsible for assisting with the Northeastern Men’s and Women’s Hockey Ice Training; as well as the training of Track and Field, Volleyball, and Women’s Crew programs.  Prior to this, Jon completed the graduate assistant program strength and conditioning program at Central Connecticut State University receiving a master’s degree in Human Performance.  At Central Connecticut, Lynch was responsible for the program design and implementation of the Blue Devil’s Men and Women’s Soccer, Men and Women’s Golf, Thrower’s and Distance programs.  Lynch also has sports performance experience working with Division 1 collegiate athletics at the University of Connecticut, The University of California: Los Angeles, as well as the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). 

Jon completed his undergraduate degree at Westfield State University, majoring in heath fitness.  He also served as a linebacker on the varsity football squad.  Coach Lynch is certified as a strength and conditioning specialist with distinction (CSCS*D) through the NSCA.  He also holds CPR/AED and First aid certifications.
