Aja Turner named America East Offensive Player of the Week

Turner scored both goals in Maine's 2-1 win over Army.

BOSTON - University of Maine women's soccer forward Aja Turner has been named the America East Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday by the conference.

Turner helped the Black Bears to a 2-1 comeback victory over Army on Sept. 3, scoring both of Maine's goals in the second half. The junior found the back of the net in the 67th minute to even the match before scoring the game-winning goal less than 10 minutes later.

Both of Turner's goals were assisted by Hannah Wehmeyer, with the pair representing the first two goals of Turner's career and Wehmeyer's first two career assists. Turner finished the night with two shots, both of which were on goal.
