Vestel, N.Y. – The University of Maine baseball program fell in extra innings on Saturday afternoon.

Scoring Plays:
Nic Pepe got the Black Bears on the board in the third inning with a sac fly to right field, scoring
Shane Andrus (BB).
Albert De La Rosa drove in a pair of runs in the fourth inning as
Hunter St. Denis (E6) and
Juju Stevens (HBP/SB) scored on the single to right field.
Juju Stevens tied the game up at 5-5 in the eighth inning as he hit a two-run home run to right field, scoring
Troy Carpenter (1B). The home run was his 12
th home run of the season.
De La Rosa drove in the go-ahead run in the 11
th inning as he hit a double off the left field wall, scoring
Brody Rasmussen (2B).
Pitching Breakdown:
Gianni Gambardella went four innings in the start, allowing three runs on five hits, one walk and one strikeout.
Pierce Friedman went three innings in relief, allowing two runs (one earned) on a hit, three walks and a strikeout.
Owen Wheeler pitched three innings to force extra innings, allowing only an unearned run on one hit, one walk and three strikeouts.
Sebastian Holt (1-1) took the loss in the 11
th inning as he allowed two runs on four hits and a strikeout in just 1/3 of an inning of work.

The Black Bears (16-27) wrap up the weekend series at Binghamton on Sunday, May 3. First pitch is scheduled for 11 AM as the Black Bears have a chance for their first weekend sweep of the season.
