Providence, RI -- The University of Maine Track and Field program competed in the Friar Invitational hosted by Providence College on Friday April 10.
In the open portion of the 800m,
Kara Tschida finished 14th overall with a time of 2:19.07 and
Toni Vaillancourt finished 24th overall with a time of 2:23.47.
In the open portion of the mile,
Meredith Walters finished 8th overall with a time of 5:09.12, Abby Rodriquenz finished 16th overall with a time of 5:13.91 and
Searcy Mooney finished 19th overall with a time of 5:15.00. While in the Invitational portion of the event,
Ruby Krasnow finished 14th overall with a time of 4:57.05.
In the open portion of the 5000m,
Ryan O'Connor finished as the top overall finisher with a time of 17:19.00.
Lila Garbett finished 2nd overall with a time of 17:35.71 and
Kennedy Taylor finished 5th overall with a time of 17:44.90. While in the Invitational portion of the event,
Megan Randall was the only competitor for Maine finishing 12th overall with a time of 17:48.03.
In the 3000m Steeplechase,
Veselja Treacy finished 1st overall with a time of 10:18.38 and
Katelyn Macnamara finished 8th with a time of 12:47.86.
The Black Bears return to action starting Friday April 17th as they take on the Sean Collier Invitational and the Jim Kavanagh Legacy Invitational.
