Lincoln, NE – The University of Maine baseball program was defeated in walk-off fashion on Friday night in the series opener at Nebraska.
First Pitch – 7 PM EST – 6-5 Nebraska
Scoring Plays:
Quinn Murphy got the Black Bears on the board in the third inning as he hit his third home run of the season, a two-run shot to right field.
Brody Rasmussen (BB) scored on the play.
Murphy drove in his third run of the day on a fielder's choice play that resulted in
Christopher Mondesir (BB/SB) scoring on the play.
Juju Stevens put the Black Bears in front in the ninth inning by drawing a bases loaded walk, scoring
Aidan Bardi (1B).
Brody Rasmussen (2B) came into score on a wild pitch in the frame.
Pitching Breakdown:
Jason Krieger took the ball to start the game on the mound as he turned in his best start to date on the season. He allowed just two runs (one earned) on seven hits, two walks and striking out two.
Brennan Rumpf threw a scoreless seventh inning, allowing just one walk and striking out one batter.
Jakc Donlin pitched an inning for Maine, allowing two runs on one hit, one hit batter and striking out one.
Owen Wheeler (0-2) took the loss as he allowed two runs on three hits in the bottom of the ninth inning.

- Quinn Murphy has hit a home run in three of the last four games for Maine.
