Rock Hill, S.C. – The University of Maine baseball program fell in a close battle at Winthrop in the series finale on Sunday, 9-6.

Scoring Plays:
Rex Hauser got the Black Bears on the board in the third inning as he connected for his first collegiate hit, that being his first collegiate home run, a solo shot to right field.
Juju Stevens hit a solo shot of his own in the third inning, also going to right field.
Hauser hit his second home run of the day in the fourth inning, this one being a three-run shot to right field, scoring both
Hunter St. Denis (BB) and
Quinn Murphy (1B).
Stevens joined Hauser with a multi-home run day as he hit second of the contest in the fifth inning, a solo shot to left field as he took the team-lead with five on the season.
Pitching Breakdown:
Thomas Stabley got the start but only went two innings as he allowed three runs on three hits, two walks and struck out two.
Brennan Hileman was first out of the bullpen as he pitched one inning, allowing two runs on one hit, one walk and one strikeout.
Erik Swenson pitched a scoreless fourth inning as he allowed just one walk in the frame.
Vaun Larisa threw two innings, allowing no runs on one hit.
Tommy Martin (0-2) pitched an inning and a 1/3, allowing two runs on one hit, three walks and striking out one.
Sabastian Holt came on in the eighth inning and allowed one run on two hits while recording one out.
Owen Wheeler recorded the final out of the eighth frame, striking out the only batter he faced.
Next Time Out:
The Black Bears (2-10) travel to Dayton for a three-game series beginning on Friday, Mar. 6. First pitch for all three games is scheduled for Noon.
