BOSTON, MASS. - The Maine women's ice hockey team fell to #5 Northeastern University on Thursday night at Walter Brown Arena.
The Huskies opened up the score on a powerplay opportunity just a few minutes into the game before adding a second goal halfway through the first period. Northeastern added two more goals in the second period, one on the powerplay to widen the lead to four goals.
In the final period, Northeastern added a fifth and final goal. Maine was able to ruin Northeastern's shutout when Isabelle Michad scored for the Black Bears on the powerplay. Michaud's goal was her eighth of the season.
Game Notes:
Kiia Lahtinen started her 27th game in net and made 36 saves.
Maine killed off 3/5 penalties and was 1/8 on the powerplay.
Lulu Rucinski and
Kendall Sundby led the team with four shots apeice.
