ORONO, Maine -- For the fifth time this season, and 12th time of her career,
Adrianna Smith has been named the America East Player of the Week.
Smith averaged 24.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while posting double-doubles in both of Maine's outings over the past week.
The redshirt senior opened the week with 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead Maine in a 56-55 victory at UMBC before posting 24 points and 15 rebounds at NJIT. Her 15 rebound performance was her second highest rebounding total in a single game this season.
Smith recorded her league-leading 13th and 14th double-doubles of the season while running her double-double streak to five-straight. Smith's point totals in the award winning week stretched her double-figure scoring streak to 21 games. Smith has recorded 20 or more points in seven of her last eight contests.
