Both earn their second weekly honors of the season.
BOSTON – University of Maine women's soccer student-athletes Isabella Meadows and Olivia Grisdale were recognized by America East on Monday, with Meadows earning Offensive Player of the Week honors and Grisdale being named Defensive Player of the Week.
Meadows recorded one goal and one assist in Maine's 2-0 conference victory over NJIT on Sunday. The junior assisted on Abbey Thornton's opening goal 20 minutes into the contest before scoring her fifth goal of the season in the 65th minute. Meadows finished with a career-high three points in the win while also recording seven shot attempts.
Grisdale played all 90 minutes on the back line, helping anchor a Black Bear defense that limited NJIT to three shots and zero corner kicks. The Black Bears did not allow a shot attempt in the second half, securing the 2-0 scoreline for Maine's fourth shutout of the season.
This marks the second weekly award of the season for both Meadows (Sept. 14) and Grisdale (Sept. 21).
