ORONO, Maine - The Maine women's hockey team fell to #5 UConn on Friday at Alfond Arena by a score of 2 to 1.
Maine outshot the Huskies 35 to 28 in the tight battle.
Stephanie Jacob scored Maine's lone goal on a shorthanded 5-on-3 disadvantage breakaway opportunity.
The Huskies scored once in the first period and once in the second before the Black Bears got on the board. The back-and-forth battle ended with Maine pulling the goaltender for an extra attacker. Maine had several chances but the game ran out of time to end in a Maine loss.

- Lulu Rucinski led Maine with seven shots on goal.
- Goaltender Kiia Lahtinen made 26 saves on 28 shots faced (.929 save %).
- Maine not only killed off a 5-v-3 penalty, but scored their second short-handed goal of the season.
