Orono, Maine - The Maine women's ice hockey team came back to win over Merrimack College on Saturday after scoring four goals in the third period.
The Black Bears were trailing by a goal until 14 minutes left in the game. Senior captain
Danielle Brunette put Maine on the board with a shot from the point to tie up the score.
Haley Ryan and
Stephanie Jacob assisted Maine's first goal.
Five minutes later
Mikayla Boarder scored to give Maine their first lead of the weekend. The Warriors tied the game back up a few minutes later, but
Stephanie Jacob responded just six seconds later to put Maine ahead again.
Rookie
Mackenzie Podewell buried an empty-net goal to seal Maine's 4-2 win in the final minute.
