BURLINGTON, Vermont - The Maine women's ice hockey team fell in the final minutes of the overtime period to Vermont on Saturday at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
Kendall Sundby put the Black Bears in the lead just a few minutes into the game with a goal from the point. Sundby's second goal of the year was assisted by
Isabelle Michaud and
Ali Altiman.
The Black Bears were able to hold the lead until just about five minutes left in the game, when Vermont scored on a powerplay opportunity to tie things up.
The game went into a five minute overtime period where Vermont was able to score to earn the extra conference point.
