BURLINGTON, Vermont - The Maine women's ice hockey team earned one conference point by skating to a 2-2 tie with Vermont on Saturday at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Vermont Catamounts picked up the extra point after winning the shootout.
Stephanie Jacob and Mackenzie Podwell were the goal scorers for Maine. Rookie defender
Sade Sandilands tallied two points in the tie by assisting both of Maine's goals.
Isabelle Michaud and
Gracie Hanson each earned one assist.
Game Notes:
- Vermont outshot Maine 28-26.
- Lily Fetch led Maine with five shots on goal.
- Goaltender Kiia Lahtinen made 26 saves.
- Maine was 2/3 on the penalty kill and 0/2 on the powerplay.
- Mackenzie Podwell was the lone scorer for the Black Bears during the shootout.
