ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team has announced its schedule for the 2025-26 season. The 35-game season includes one exhibition game, 24 Hockey East conference match-ups, and 10 non-conference opponents.
Maine finished in sixth place in Hockey East standings last season, with a 10-14-3 conference record. They will begin the 2025-26 season with an away exhibition game against the University of New Hampshire on Sept. 20.
The Black Bears open up their regular season with four, non-conference away games. The first two will be against the nationally-ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats on Sept. 26 and 27. The following weekend, the Black Bears will travel to play the defending National Champions, the Wisconsin Badgers, on Oct. 3 and 4 in Madison, WI.
Next, Maine will host Saint Anselm in the newly renovated Alfond Arena on Oct. 10 for their home opener.Â
Maine remains home for a series against the nationally-ranked Colgate Raiders on Oct. 17 and 18.
Maine has a bye weekend on Oct. 24 and 25.Â
Hockey East conference play will open the following weekend on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 as the team heads to Providence College for two games. Maine will return home to host Boston University on Nov. 7 and 8. Conference play continues as Maine will travel to Holy Cross on Nov 14 and 15. The team again returns home on Nov. 21 and 22 to host Northeastern.
Over Thanksgiving weekend, Maine will travel to Harvard University for a pair of non-conference games on Nov. 28 and 29.
On Dec. 5 and 6, Maine will travel to Durham, NH for a pair of conference games and a Border Battle with the University of New Hampshire.
Maine rounds out 2025 with a single non-conference game against Brown University on Dec. 30 at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine.
The new year kicks off with a single contest against Holy Cross on Jan. 3 at Alfond Arena. The Black Bears stay home to host UConn on Jan. 9 and 10 the following weekend.Â
On Jan. 16 and 17, Maine heads to the University of Vermont for two games.
Maine will host Merrimack College on Jan. 22 and 23 at Alfond Arena.
The Black Bears will travel to Chestnut Hill, MA for a series with Boston College on Jan. 29 and 30.
Maine wraps up the regular season playing five games against five different Hockey East opponents. On Feb. 5, Maine travels to Northeastern. On Feb. 7, Maine continues on to play Boston University. The Black Bears will host Vermont on Feb. 13 and New Hampshire on Feb. 14, both at Alfond Arena. Lastly, Maine travels to Merrimack on Feb. 20 for the final game of the regular season.
The Opening Round of the Hockey East Playoffs is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
