Storrs, CT – The University of Maine baseball team fell in the regular season finale at UConn on Sunday.

Black Bear Scoring Breakdown:

Damon Gaither tied the game up at 1-1 in the seventh frame as he hit a solo home run to left field, his sixth of the season.

Black Bear Pitchers:

Gianni Gambardella went 4 innings in the scheduled shortened start, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, 1 walk and 1 strikeout.

Jason Libby went 2 shutout innings in relief, allowing 1 hit and 1 walk, striking out 2.

Pierce Friedman (1-2) allowed 2 runs on 2 hits and 1 walk in 1/3 of an inning of work.

Jack Donlin walked the lone batter he faced before Owen Wheeler took over in the seventh frame. Wheeler allowed 1 walk and struck out 1 in his 2/3 of an inning.

Sebastian Holt pitched the final frame, allowing 2 runs on 1 hit, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.

The Huskies scored one run in the fourth, two in the seventh and two in the eighth.
