Orono, Maine – The University of Maine women's ice hockey team will wear an alternate third jersey for its 'Maine State Pride' game against Brown University on Dec. 30 at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. The jerseys were made possible through a valued partnership with KeyBank.
"KeyBank is proud to partner with University of Maine Athletics and to celebrate the rich traditions that bring our community together," said KeyBank Maine Market President, Tony DiSotto. "As we mark KeyBank's bicentennial, we're reflecting on our roots and the generations of people and places that have shaped us. Seeing the Black Bear Women wear the Maine State Pride jerseys is a powerful reminder of unity, resilience, and our shared commitment to showcasing the very best of Maine."
The jersey features Maine's iconic Portland Head Lighthouse outlined by the state of Maine. Maine's navy color scheme is the primary color of the jersey, with the columbia blue and white stripes. The Maine script logo is on each shoulder of the jersey in white.
"We could not be more grateful for KeyBank and their support," said head coach Molly Engstrom. "Through their interest and efforts, KeyBank has provided another avenue for our program to connect with the community, which means a lot to us. We can't wait to sport the new jerseys in Portland."
The inspiration for the jersey stemmed from the state of Maine's iconic and historic landmark, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. It is the oldest lighthouse in the state.
