VESTAL, N.Y. –
Victoria Dungey scored with less than five minutes to play in double overtime to push the fourth-seeded University of Maine women's soccer team past top-seeded Binghamton, 1-0, on Thursday night in the America East Championship semifinal at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
With the victory, Maine now advances to the program's eighth-ever title game and third consecutive. Maine will take on Vermont at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9 in Burlington. Maine is the first America East team since Hartford (2014-16) to advance to three consecutive title games.
Dungey's winning strike came with 4:38 to play in the second overtime. After
Madison Michaud switched the field towards
Jordane Pinette on the right flank. Pinette got behind the defense, cut back and eventually slid the ball back across the box for a waiting Dungey to fire home.

- Binghamton had the 11-9 edge in shots while Maine had a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.
- The Bearcats had the 4-2 lead in corner kicks.
- Elena Barenberg made four saves in moving to 5-4-2 on the year … she posted her third shutout of the season.
- Maine is now 8-12-7 in the all-time series with Binghamton.
- With the win, Maine ended Binghamton's 13-game unbeaten streak.
- Maine now advances to the program's third consecutive title game and the eighth in program history.
