ORONO, Maine - The Maine women's ice hockey team was defeated by the #8 Northeastern Huskies on Friday at Alfond Arena, 3 to 1.
The Huskies scored two goals in the first three and a half minutes of the game to gain an early lead on the Black Bears. After that, the remainder of the first period and whole second period went scoreless.
In the final three minutes of the game, Northeastern scored an empty net goal to widen the lead. The Black Bears responded with an even-strength goal in the final minutes to ruin Huskies' netminder Lisa Jonsson's perfect game.
Mikayla Boarder was the goal scorer with
Ali Altiman and
Paige Fong earning assists.

Maine was outshot 35 to 28.
Maine was 6/7 on the Penalty Kill, including killing a five minute penalty successfully, and 0/2 on the powerplay.
Paige Fong is currently on a three-game point streak.
