Box Score WORCESTER, MA - The Maine women's ice hockey team came away with a 2-1 victory over Holy Cross on Friday at Hart Center Rink.

Holy Cross scored first, but 27 seconds later Sophomore Brenna Curl scored her first career goal to kick off the scoring for Maine. Stephanie Jacob picked up the assist on the game tying goal. A minute and a half later, Lulu Rucinski scored what would be the game-winning goal on the powerplay. Gracie Hanson and Paige Fong earned assists, as Maine held off the Crusaders for the rest of the game. 

Sophomore goaltender Kiia Lahtinen stood tall in goal making 26 of 27 saves for a .963 save percentage. 

Game Notes

• Tonight's win was Maine's first road-victory of the season. 
• Maine's special teams were perfect as the team went 1-for-1 on the powerplay and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
• The Black Bears blocked 13 shots, with Jaidyn Britt, Kendall Sundby, Brenna Curl, Stephanie Jacob and Lulu Rucinski blocking two apiece.
• Lulu Rucinski led the Black Bears with five shots on goal.
