ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine Cross Country programs are set to compete at the America East Championships in Hopkinton, New Hampshire at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds on Friday October 31.
The men will take on the 8k course starting at 11am and the women will take on the 5k course at 12pm.
Men's Runners to Watch:
Charlie Collins: The junior from Hampden, Maine is competing in another America East Championship race for the Black Bears. Collin's has raced in two events for Maine this season. In the Gans Creek Classic, Collins finished 35th overall with a time of 24:17.1 and in the New England Championships Collins took home 6th place overall with a time of 24:16.6. In the 2024 America East Championships, Collins finished 6th overall with a time of 24:24.0.
Connor Daigle: The senior from Union, Maine is competing on Friday in the America East Championships. Daigle has competed in three races for the Black Bears during the season. Daigle finished 2nd in Maine's opening meet with Army with a time of 25:08.9, 76th overall at the Gans Creek Classic with a time of 24:37.8 and finished 14th at the New England Championships with a time of 24:44.1. Daigle last season's America East Championships finished 23rd overall with a time of 24:59.5.
Harry Greiner: The junior from Madison, Connecticut is competing in his first America East Cross Country Championship on Friday. Grenier has competed in two meets for the Black Bears during the 2025 season. Grenier finished 6th in the season opening meet with a time of 25:36.2. Grenier also competed in the Gans Creek Classic finishing 67th overall with a time of 24:34.3.
Women's Runners to Watch:
Ruby Krasnow: The graduate student from Huntsville, Alabama is competing in her first America East Cross Country Championship meet for the Black Bears. In Krasnow's first cross country campaign with the Black Bears, Krasnow finished 8th in the season opening meet against Army with a time of 18:44.6. Krasnow also finished 3rd in the Maine State Championship with a time of 21:50.4 and finished 12th at the New England Championships with a time of 17:56.6.
Helen Shearer: The senior from Hampden, Maine is competing in her first America East Cross Country Championship with the Black Bears. Shearer competed in two meets in the 2025 season, including a 29th place finish in the Gans Creek Classic with a time of 21:29.1 and a 2nd place finish at the New England Championships with a time of 17:28.3.
Megan Randall: The junior from Bangor, Maine is competing in another America East Cross Country Championship event for the Black Bears. Randall competed in three events during the 2025 season which included a 1st place finish in the season opening meet against Army with a time of 17:59.6. Randall also finished 20th at the Gans Creek Classic with a time of 21:10.3 and finished the New England Championships with a time of 22:58.0. Randall last competed in the America East Championships in 2023 where she finished 2nd with a time of 17:25.3.
