Maine Captures 1st Place in 2025 Opener

Orono, ME - The University of Maine men's track and field program hosted the Black Bear Invite at the New Balance Fieldhouse on Friday Jan 17. The men's program finished in first place with 77 points.

Black Bear Invite Results:
Weight Throw:
Ian Randall finished in 1st place with a distance of 13.95m/45' 9.25".
Colby Largay finished in 2nd place with a distance of 12.16m/39' 10.75".

Long Jump:
Will Rush finished in 1st place with a distance of 7m/22' 11.5".
Conor Morin finished in 2nd place with a distance of 6.97m/22' 10.5".

Shot Put:
Colby Largay finished in 4th place with a distance of 13.27m/43' 6.5".
Ian Randall finished in 5th place with a distance of 13.19m/43' 3.25".

Pole Vault:
Evan Russo finished in 1st place with a height of 4.3m/14' 1.25".
Thomas McCormack finished in 2nd place with a height of 4.15m/13' 7.25".

High Jump:
Conor Morin finished in 1st place with a height of 1.94m/6' 4.25".
Ryan Malieswski finished in 3rd place with a height of 1.65m/5' 5",

60m Hurdles:
Ben Therriault finished in 1st place with a time of 8.70.
Andrew Munroe finished in 2nd place with a time of 8.70.

1000m Run:
Charlie Collins finished in 1st place with a time of 2:28.61.
Ned Farrington finished in 2nd place with a time of 2:30.38.

60m Dash:
Josh Sewell finished in 1st place with a time of 7.08.
Miles Gay finished in 2nd place with a time of 7.09.

300m Dash:
Andrew Card finished in 1st place with a time of 34.88. Card's time puts him #1 in the record book.
Andrew Munroe finished in 2nd place with a time of 35.14.

3000m Run:
Harrison Grenier finished in 1st place with a time of 8:43.90.

4x400 Relay:
Reid Wheatley, Matt Firlings, Eli Palmer and Kaleb Colson teamed up to take 1st place with a time of 3:35.86.

600m Run:
Luke Patterson finished in 1st place with a time of 1:24.71. Patterson now holds the #5 spot in the record book.
Kaleb Colson finished in 2nd place with a time of 1:24.85. Colson holds 6th place in the record book.
Jacob Robinson-Smey finished in 3rd place with a time of 1:26.39. He know holds 10th place in the record book.

The Black Bears return to action on Jan 24 when they take on UMass Lowell's Riverhawk Invite.
