Maine erased a 2-0 deficit for a 3-2 road win.

BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Maine women's soccer team erased a two-goal deficit for a 3-2 win at Vermont on Sunday at Virtue Field. The win moves Maine to 2-0 in America East play.

Vermont scored on a long-distance shot in the 26th minute and then took a 2-0 lead in the 61st minute. But less than two minutes later, Julie Lossius would put Maine on the board when she finished a Tegan Morrison flank service.

Morrison set up the equalizing goal in the 83rd minute, finding Kristina Kelly off a corner kick. Four minutes later, Jordane Pinette stopped a goalkeeper clearance and slotted home the game-winning goal to complete the 3-2 comeback.

NOTES

The game marked the first time Maine has come back from two goals down to win since a 3-2 victory at UMBC on Sept. 25, 2022.
Maine had a 19-8 lead in shots and a 9-3 edge in shots on goal.
The Black Bears had a 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
Jordane Pinette scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season and fourth game-winning goal.
Pinette had a game-high six shots and five shots on goal.
Julie Lossius scored her first goal of the season while Kristina Kelly scored her second.
Tegan Morrison recorded two assists for her first career multi-assist game.
Goalkeeper Jessica Kasacek finished with two saves for Maine in moving to 5-1-2 on the year.
Myla Schneider played the full 90 minutes for Maine.
Maine is now 14-16-6 all-time against Vermont … this was the fourth consecutive meeting decided by one goal or less.
