KINGSTON, R.I.  – 
Jordane Pinette scored in the 16th minute and the University of Maine women's soccer team earned a 1-0 road win at Rhode Island on Sunday afternoon at the URI Soccer Complex.
 
Maine took the 1-0 lead after 
Lara Kirkby sent Pinette into the box on a through-ball up the middle of the field. Pinette took a cut and fired into the goal from the edge of the box.
 
The Black Bears and Rams then battled scoreless for the remaining 75 minutes and the 1-0 final.
 
NOTES
	- Maine had the 11-9 edge in shots and the 8-0 lead in shots on goal.
 
	- Rhode Island had a 7-2 lead in corners.
 
	- Jordane Pinette scored her second goal of the season … Lara Kirkby earned her third assist of the year.
 
	- Abby Kraemer had a game-high four shots and three shots on goal … Kirkby also had a multi-shot on goal game with two.
 
	- Kirkby, Anna Phillips and Myla Schneider played the full 90 minutes.
 
	- Maine is now 9-10-3 all-time against Rhode Island.
 
	- The Black Bears have held opponents without a shot on goal in two of the first three games.
