Black Bears Announce 2024-25 Roster

Six Newcomers Join the Black Bears

Orono, ME - The University of Maine Men's Basketball program has announced their 2024-25 roster, which features a 16-man roster of 10 returners, three transfers and three freshmen.

Amare Allen, a freshman out of Ajax, Ontario, Canada, was a standout prospect out of the CODE Academy. He was named the MVP of his league during his senior season in high school. He helped lead his team to a 4-0 record in the Tarkanian Classic, which resulted in his team being one of the top teams as a first year program at the event.

Caleb Crawford, a freshman out of the Bronx, New York, joins the Black Bears after being the top scorer at his high school, Loomis Chaffee, a season ago. He averaged 18 PPG in his senior season, which helped lead his team to the NEPSAC Class A Championship and a Founders League Championship. He was a two-time First Team All NEPSAC and a three-time All Founders League First Team Member during his high school career.

Killian Gribben, a junior out of Letterkenny, Ireland, joins the Black Bears after spending the past two seasons at Siena College, where he averaged 3.2 PPG, 3.1 RPG and 0.75 BPG across his 59 games played. In the Summer of 2023, he was the captain of the Irish u20 Team, where he averaged 13 PPG, 10.7 RPG and 4.1 BPG. In 2020, he won the All Ireland Schools Cup Final with Saint Eunans College. He has represented his country three times at the National Level, once with the U18 Team and twice with the U20 Team.

Darius Lopes, a freshman out of West Warwick, Rhode Island, joins the Black Bears after a successful high school career at Vermont Academy.

Christopher Mantis, a senior out of Lowell, Indiana, joins the Black Bears after spending his past three seasons at Appalachian State University. He averaged 4.8 PPG while shooting 34% from three-point range during his time at Appalachian State. In 2023-24 season, Appalachian State won their Conference Championship. Before attending Appalachian State, Chris averaged 20.5 PPG in his high school career at Lowell Senior High School, becoming the schools all-time leading scorer.

Ridvan Tutic, a junior out of Novi Pazar, Serbia, joins the Black Bears after spending the previous two seasons at the University of New Hampshire, where he averaged 3.9 PPG and 4.9 RPG across 29 games played. He was named to America East All-Rookie Team in 2023. Before attending UNH, Ridvan averaged 21 PPG, 12 RPG, 4 APG and 2 BPG with his club team, KK Stari Ras. He was U18 Champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a Regional Champion of South-West Serbia U17 in 2018.
