SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The University of Maine women's soccer team used four different goal scorers to top Le Moyne, 4-0, in the 2024 season opener on Thursday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

The Black Bears took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute as
Jordane Pinette finished off a combined cross from the left side from
Abby Kraemer and
Kayla Kraemer.
Abbey Thornton was able to make it 2-0 late in the first half.

Late in the second half,
Kristina Kelly slotted a ball for
Abby Kraemer to run on to and finish for a 3-0 edge. Ninety seconds later,
Lara Kirkby finished the Maine scoring by one-touching an
Abby Kraemer centering ball.

- Maine had a 26-2 lead in shots and a 12-0 lead in shots on goal.
- The Black Bears led 9-1 in corner kicks earned.
- Goalkeeper Jessica Kasacek made her first career start and picked up her first career win.
- Anna Phillips and Myla Schneider played the full 90 minutes for Maine.
- Olivia Grisdale and Emma Nicholson made their collegiate debuts ... Amanda Clauzel and Phillips made their Maine debuts.
- Seven Black Bears finished with at least one shot on goal … Abby Kraemer (3) and Jordane Pinette (2) had multiple shots on goal.
- Pinette and Abby Kraemer also scored against in last year's season-opener against Le Moyne.
- Abby Kraemer's two assists marked her first career multi-assist game … Kraemer finished with four points on one goal and two assists.Â
