ORONO, Maine -- The Black Bear Blitz is a month long Maine Football giving opportunity throughout May. We have set a goal to raise over $30,000 during this year's Black Bear Blitz. With your continued support and commitment to Maine Football, I have no doubt we will reach this goal.
 
Our 2024 Black Bear Blitz is focus is around recruiting and nutrition. Recruiting and nutrition are vital parts to our program mission of Recruit, Develop, Retain. The recruiting timeline has one again been adjusted by the NCAA by moving the National Signing Day up in December and a new National Signing Day in June starting in 2025. These changes require us here at Maine and the rest of FCS and FBS institutions to adapt and change our recruiting timelines. We will be on the road recruiting in the month of May and June with the expectation of attaining commitments at key positions by the end of June/July. Your support will allow us to be aggressive during this time.

One of our program goals is to be the most physically dominant football team in the country. This goal, identity, and lifestyle demands that our players commit to their physical condition. Our football team is being built from the middle – out. We want to dominate up front and that requires a mindset and the physical tools needed to play with aggressive techniques and fundamentals. The Black Bear Blitz will support our players nutritionally throughout the summer months and into the fall.
