Boca Raton, FL - The University of Maine baseball team allowed six runs in the ninth to drop the second game of the weekend series at FAU, 6-4.
First pitch: 4 P.M. (6-4 FAU)
Third Inning: Jeremiah Jenkins got the Black Bears on the board first as he hit a two-run home run to right field, scoring Jake Marquez (1B) on the play. For Jenkins, the long ball was his seventh of the season.
Jeph Hadson-Taylor brought home the Black Bears third run of the inning as he drew a bases loaded walk, scoring Connor Goodman (1B).
Fourth Inning: Maine added their fourth run of the contest as Nick White (1B/SB) scored on a fielding error by the first basemen.
Seventh Inning: Luc Lavigueur began the seventh inning on the mound for Maine. Jason Kreiger turned in his best outing of the season as he allowed no runs across 6 shutout innings. He allowed just 2 hits, 5 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Ninth Inning: After allowing two runs and loading the bases, Geoff Mosseau was called on in relief of Lavigueur in the bottom of the ninth. Lavigueur ended up allowed 5 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk across 2 innings of work.
FAU scored six runs in the bottom of the ninth as they hit a walk-off grand slam.
Mosseau allowed 1 run on 1 hit.
FAU came away with the victory, 6-4.
