Preview: Women's Ice Hockey travel to Holy Cross for final series of regular season

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team (13-17-2) will travel to Worcester, Massachusetts to face Holy Cross (7-21-3) for the final series of the regular season on Feb. 23/24. This final series has crucial Hockey East points on the line to determine playoff standings and home-ice positioning.

Previous Match-Up Facts:

The Black Bears and Crusaders have faced off once this season, with Maine picking up the 6-0 win back in December.
Julia Bachetti recorded a 29-save shutout while six different Black Bears scored.
The overall series record with Holy Cross is 11-3-3 in favor of the Black Bears.

Maine currently sits in 8th place in the Hockey East standings.
The Black Bears most recently picked up a win in last weekend's lone game against Providence College. The 2-1 OT win was clinched by junior Mira Seregély's overtime goal, just 13 seconds into the extra period. Sam Morrison and Adriana van de Leest assisted the game-winning goal.
Ava Stevenson scored Maine's first goal on a penalty shot to tie the game and send the Black Bears to overtime.
Jorden Mattison made 37 saves on 38 shots for her fifth win this season.

Holy Cross sits in 10th place in the Hockey East standings.
Holy Cross was most recently swept by UNH by scores of 2-1 and 4-2. Before that, #11 UConn defeated the Crusaders 5-1 on Feb. 10.
