DURHAM, N.H. – The University of Maine men's hockey team fell on the road to #19 New Hampshire, 5-2, on Saturday night at the Whittemore Center.
Donavan Villeneuve-Houle put Maine up 1-0 less than five minutes into the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle.
The Wildcats responded in the second period, capitalizing on a major penalty to tie the game and then taking the lead with an even-strength tally. UNH took advantage of another five-minute power play in the third period to go up 3-1.
Harrison Scott pulled Maine within a goal but UNH responded 33 seconds later to retake a 4-2 edge before capping the scoring with a fifth goal with 3:55 to play.
