Orono, Maine -- Maine concludes its four-game road trip with its first stop at Saint Joseph's since 2008 when the two teams clash on Monday evening at 7 p.m.

Caroline Dotsey posted a team-W. LAFEYETTE, Ind. -- The University of Maine women's basketball team, which trailed Purdue by 11 in the first quarter, battled back to carry a six point lead into halftime. However, the Black Bears were unable to hold on, falling to the Boilermakers by a final of 60-51 on Wednesday evening.
Caroline Bornemann paced Maine with 16 points, her sixth double-digit showing of the season, while
Asta Blauenfeldt and
Caroline Dotsey each added 13. Blauenfeldt finished the contest 5-of-7 from the floor while Dotsey, who added a team-high six boards, posted her third consecutive double-digit scoring performance.
Maine, which outscored Purdue 27-12 in the second quarter, finished the game 19-of-54 (35.2) from the floor with eight triples.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine looks to go 2-2 on its current four-game road trip as it opened by defeating Stonehill before dropping Big Ten meetings at Indiana and Purdue. The Black Bears are led on offense by
Caroline Bornemann who has featured double-digit scoring efforts in three of her last four outings and currently stands just 101 points away from 1,000 in her career. Bornemann, who has registered four double-doubles on the season ranks inside the top-10 among America East leaders in scoring (8th - 12.2), rebounding (4th - 7.7), and field goal percentage (40.2 - 8th). After scoring just 23 points total in Maine's first six games, Dotsey has posted scoring efforts of 26 (career-high), 17, and 13 in her last three outings. Dotsey is averaging 18.7 points per game over the three-game span.Â
Sarah Talon is adding 9.9 points per game, 17th best among league-leaders, while Paul Gallego is adding 7.0 points and ranks third in the America East at 3.2 assists per game. Maine continues to lead the America East in three-point attempts per game (26.7), 27th highest in the nation, while checking in second among league leaders at 7.9 triples made per game. The Black Bears are tops in the America East in terms of taking care of the ball, giving it away just 15.0 times per game.
A LOOK AT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
The Hawks, 2-1 at home, are coming off a 69-47 victory over Drexel on Friday evening. Saint Joseph's, which began the year 4-0 with a win at Syracuse, boasts the A-10's second-highest scoring offense at 78.6 points per game with an impressive scoring margin on the year of +23.0. The Hawks are impressive from beyond the arc where they rank tops in the A-10 in seventh in the nation with a 41.0 percent clip from downtown. Laura Ziegler leads the A-10 in scoring, at 17.9 points per game, and rebounding with 10.5 per outing to go along with a team-leading 4.8 assists. Talya Brugler checks in third in the A-10 at 17.4 points
SERIES WITH SAINT JOSEPH'S:
Maine and Saint Joseph's will meet for the fourth time in history and first since 2008. After winning the first meeting between the two clubs, 54-36 back in 2004, Maine has lost two in a row to the Hawks. The Black Bears dropped meetings to the Hawks by margins of 69-49 (2006) and 74-46 (2008) and will be looking for their first win on the road in the all-time series.
