Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's basketball team hits the road for a two-game Big 10 swing with its first stop at Indiana on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. The meeting marks Maine's first trip to IU since 2003.

Caroline Dotsey posted a career-high 26 points while
Caroline Bornemann chipped in her fourth double-double of the season as the Black Bears defeated Stonehill 87-75 on Tuesday evening.
Maine posted a season-high 14 triples, 10 in the first half, in the win as it registered its highest scoring output since an 88 point effort on Dec. 11, 2022.
Dotsey led the Black Bears, shooting 8-of-14 from the floor with a career-best five triples, with her game-high 26 point effort. Bornemann added 21 points and 12 rebounds while
Sera Hodgson added 12 points with a trio of triples.
The Black Bears finished at 47.0 percent from the floor (31-of-66), 35.9 (14-of-39) from three, to lead the impressive offensive effort.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine snapped a three-game losing skid with an 87-75 victory at Stonehill on Tuesday evening. The win, in which Maine posted its highest point total since 2022, began a four-game road streak for the Black Bears that will take it through Indiana, with stops at IU and Purdue, before a meeting with Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia. Maine is led by
Caroline Bornemann who has posted double-digit scoring efforts in five of Maine's first seven games with double-doubles in two-straight. Bornemann currently ranks fifth in the America East in scoring (13.1) ad fifth in rebounding (9.3). Her four double-doubles on the season rank fourth best in the NCAA.
Sarah Talon has featured double-figure scoring in four of seven games thus far and checks in 12th best in the conference in scoring (11.3) with a third-ranked field goal percentage mark of 54.4.
Paula Gallego is adding 8.4 points and ranks eighth in the league at 2.9 assists per game. The Black Bears continue to thrive from the three-point line where they rank second in the league at 7.9 triples per game. Maine also leads the America East with just 14.9 turnovers per game, including a season-low six last time out.

A LOOK AT INDIANA:
The Hoosiers are coming off back-to-back ranked match-ups as they defeated #18/17 Baylor, 73-65, before falling to #16/15 North Carolina, 69-39. Indiana, who began the season with three returning starters from its 28-6 Sweet Sixteen team from a year ago, is led by Yarden Garzon, a Cheryl Miller Award preseason watchlist honoree, who enters averaging 14.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and a team-high 37.8 percent clip from three-point range. Shay Ciezki is adding 11.7 points while Lilly Meister is averaging 10.7 points and a team-high 6.4 rebounds.
SERIES WITH INDIANA:
Maine and Indiana meet for the fourth time in history and for the second consecutive season. Maine is 0-3 all-time against the Hoosiers and 0-1 at Indiana. The Black Bears dropped a 67-58 decision at Indiana on 12/12/03 before falling, 67-59, on 12/10/04 to the Hoosiers in Orono. A year ago, Indiana battled back to defeat Maine by a final of 67-59 at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine. In the latest meeting, Maine carried a 37-29 advantage into the half and led #17 Indiana with 5:30 left in regulation, but was unable to close out the victory.
Anne Simon posted 34 points in the game for Maine which shot 40.0 from the floor in the contest.
