Orono, ME - The University of Maine football team dropped its regular season finale against #24 New Hampshire, 27-9 on Saturday afternoon.
Carty Peevy had 168 passing yards on 12-of-25 and a touchdown while also leading the team in rushing with 43 yards on the ground.
Montigo Moss hauled in a touchdown pass for the Black Bears to go along with a team-high five catches for 50 yards.
Trevin Ewing caught a 64-yard pass to lead the squad in receiving yards.
Christian Thomas guided the Black Bears with 12 tackles.
Devin Vaught registered an interception while
Jeremaine Baker blocked a field goal.
The Black Bears scored the opening nine points on the afternoon as
Joey Bryson hit a 39-yard field goal to open up the scoring.
Peevy connected with Moss for an 8-yard touchdown with 40 seconds remaining in the first quarter, which was set up by the Vaught interception.
UNH scored a late touchdown in the first half on a 1-yard rush by Denzell Gibson to make it 9-7 at halftime.
The Wildcats scored two touchdowns and two field goals in the second half to win the contest, 27-9.
Caleb Mead (57-yard rush) and Seth Morgan (7-yard rush) scored the two touchdowns while Nick Mazzie hit field goals of 21 and 22-yards.
Maine concluded the regular season with a 5-7 record.
