A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine, looking to win its first two road games for the first time since 2020, features a balanced scoring attack with three players averaging double-digits led by Caroline Bornemann. Bornemann, who ranks fifth in the America East at 13.5 points per game, has tallied double-digit scoring in three of the first four games with double-doubles in two. Bornemann currently ranks second in the league at 9.3 rebounds per game. Paula Gallego is off the best start of her career at 12.5 points per game and is tied with Bornemann for the team lead at 3.0 assists. Gallego opened the season with a career-high 21 points, posting double-digit points in each of Maine's first three games. Sarah Talon is adding 12.8 points. Through the small sample size of four games, Maine ranks eighth in the America East in scoring (53.8) and seventh in scoring defense (60.8).

A LOOK AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY:
The Terriers play their second consecutive America East opponent after suffering a 69-60 setback at New Hampshire on Nov. 16 in a game which saw Alex Giannaros tally her 1,000th career point. BU, 1-0 at home this season with a season opening victory over Northeastern, dropped a 86-32 decision at No. 2 UConn on Nov. 7. The Terriers return nine players from last year's squad which finished the year 20-12, with a 15-2 mark at home, before falling to No. 1 seeded Holy Cross in the Patriot League final. Giannaros, a preseason all-conference selection, leads BU in scoring at 14.7 points to go along with 3.3 rebounds. Aoibhe Gormley and Anete Adler are each adding 9.0 points.

SERIES WITH BOSTON UNIVERSITY:
Maine and Boston University, former America East conference foes, will meet for the 75th time in history, and the first since 2021. In the last meeting, Maine snapped a 12-game losing skid against the Terriers with a 59-57 victory in Boston. Prior to that win, Maine's last victory came in 2008. Maine is 21-24 all-time on the road against the Terriers. The Black Bears and BU have met 10 times in America East postseason play, splitting those games 5-5. Maine defeated BU, 68-43, in the 2004 America East title game.
