MADISON, Wisc. – The University of Maine women's soccer team fell to fifth-seeded Wisconsin, 3-1, on Friday night in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

The Black Bears end the season at 13-2-3 overall, the most wins for the program since 2006.

Wisconsin jumped out to a 2-0 lead just four minutes into the contest but the Black Bears steadied.
Lara Kirkby then made it a one-goal game less than 90 seconds into the second half. The hosts, though, would add an insurance goal in the 57th minute for the 3-1 final.
