Nolan Renwick had two goals and two assists while
Taylor Makar had two goals and one assist as the #12/11 University of Maine men's ice hockey team topped AIC, 6-0, on Saturday night in the 2024-25 season opener in front of a sold-out crowd at Alfond Arena.

Three other Black Bears had multiple points, with
Ross Mitton notching three assists while
Brandon Holt and
Frank Djurasevic each had two assists.

Makar opened the scoring 95 seconds into the game and then made it 2-0 early in the second period. A
Harrison Scott goal made it 3-0 before the second intermission. Just 41 seconds into the third period, Renwick wired a one-timer from the left circle and then repeated the same play three minutes later for his first career multi-goal game. A
