Abby Kraemer scored in the 56th minute and the University of Maine women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 win over America East foe UMass Lowell on Thursday night at Mahaney Diamond. The win moved Maine's home unbeaten streak to 23 games, setting an America East record.

A physical first half that saw Maine out-shoot UMass Lowell 10-2 came to a scoreless close before the Black Bears broke through.

Kristina Kelly won the ball in the midfield and fed
Lara Kirkby, Kirby in turn found Kraemer at the top of the box. Kraemer turned her defender and sent a shot back across the box inside the far-right post.

Neither team scored over the final 35 minutes and the Black Bears picked up the 1-0 win.

- With the win, Maine extended its home unbeaten streak to an America East record 23 games, beating Hartford's 22-game streak (Oct. 30, 1996-Oct. 3, 1999).
- Maine had the 17-4 lead in shots and the 9-1 lead in shots on goal.
- The Black Bears had eight corner kicks to four for the River Hawks.
- Goalkeeper Jessica Kasacek finished with one save for Maine in moving to 6-1-2 on the year.
- Lara Kirkby had a game-high six shots … Kirkby and Abby Kraemer tied for a game-high two shots on goal.
