Orono, Maine -- Maine (12-8, 5-1 AE) looks to stretch its win streak against the Bearcats (7-12, 2-4 AE) to nine-straight when it continues its New York road trip Saturday afternoon in Binghamton.

Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's basketball team (12-8, 5-1 AE) saw its five-game win streak snap with a 54-47 loss at UAlbany (17-2, 6-0 AE) on Thursday evening.
Adrianna Smith led the Black Bears by posting her 14th double-double on the season, and the fourth in as many games, with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Caroline Bornemann hit a trio of threes for nine points to go along with five rebounds.
Maine, which won the rebounding battle (39-36) for the sixth consecutive game, struggled from the floor as it finished the contest 18-of-64 (28.1%).
Defensively, Maine remained strong as it forced 17 UAlbany turnovers while holding the Great Danes to their third lowest point total of the season and fewest in conference play.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine, which started the conference season 5-0 for the first time since 2003-04, recently had its five game win streak snapped with a loss at UAlbany. Maine's defense has been impressive through its first six conference games as the Black Bears rank first among league leaders in scoring defense, surrendering just 47.2 points per game. Maine has held four of its six conference opponents to 48 points or fewer.
Adrianna Smith, who ranks third in the country with 14 double-doubles on the season, is averaging 21.0 points and 11.7 rebounds in league play; both league highs among conference play leaders. Overall,
Anne Simon leads the America East in scoring at 17.8 points per game with double-digit scoring efforts in 13 of her last 14 outings. Simon currently ranks seventh on Maine's all-time scoring list with 1,713 career points and recently moved into 15th on Maine's all-time rebounding list (630) and snatched her 250th career steal in her last outing. Defensively, Simon ranks second in the America East at 2.6 steals per game and sixth on Maine's all-time steals list (250). For the season, Smith ranks among the top-7 in the America East in eight categories including scoring (4th - 16.1), rebounding (1st - 10.9), and assists (3rd - 4.4). Her 10.9 rebounds per game is good for 12th best in the country. Smith has registered a double-double in each of her last four outings and six of her last seven.
Maine has won the rebounding battle in 16 of its 21 outings and enter play 12-4 when controlling the boards and has won the battle in each of its first six conference games. The Black Bears lead the America East in rebounding (38.3).
A LOOK AT BINGHAMTON:
Binghamton, 5-6 on the season in its home gym, have won two straight after handing New Hampshire a 73-63 decision on Thursday evening. The Bearcats rank fourth in the conference in scoring (63.3) and seventh in point allowed (63.8). Binghamton trails only Maine in three-pointers made per game (7.1) and rank second in the conference with a 34.5 percent clip from downtown. Ella Wanzer leads Binghamton in scoring at 11.7 points per game and ranks second among America East leaders in three-point percentage (41.4) and three-pointers made per game (2.8). Genevieve Coleman is adding 11.2 points and 4.0 rebounds while Denai Bowman (10.5) and Jadyn Weltz (10.4) round out four double-digit scorers for the Bearcats. Weltz leads the conference with 4.7 assists per game.
SERIES WITH BINGHAMTON:
Maine and Binghamton will meet for the 48th time with the Black Bears holding a 32-15 advantage. Maine, which has won 21 of the last 24 meetings, will be looking for its ninth-straight win over Binghamton after sweeping the season series a year ago before earning a 64-54 victory in the latest meeting in the America East quarterfinal round.
Anne Simon is averaging 17.7 points per game in nine all-time meetings with Binghamton with double-digit scoring totals in eight of the nine meetings.
Adrianna Smith posted double-double in each of the three meetings a year ago including a 31 point performance in the regular season finale in Orono. Maine and Binghamton first met in 2001, a 63-62 overtime victory by the Black Bears. Maine is 16-11 on the road in the series in have won five straight at Binghamton.
