Soccer Draws at Sacred Heart Sunday Afternoon, 1-1

Orono, ME - The University of Maine women's soccer team continued its lossless start to the 2023 season as they tied Sacred Heart on Sunday afternoon, 1-1.

Abbey Thornton got the Black Bears on the board in the 53rd minute for her first collegiate goal. Her score came on a great cross by Abby Kraemer (2).

Molly Murnane scored for Sacred Heart in the 88th minute to tie the game at 1-1.

Kira Kutzinski picked up two saves in the draw for the Black Bears, giving her 10 total saves in a two-tie week for Maine.

Maine (3-0-3) will look to keep their great start to 2023 going as they travel to Boston University on Thursday, Sep. 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
