PREVIEW: Track and Field Travel to UMass for Third Week of Outdoor Season

Orono, ME - The University of Maine men's and women's track and field teams continue the outdoor season by traveling to UMass Amherst for a two day meet on Apr. 7 and 8.

Notable Performances

Maine is coming from a strong outing at the Black & Gold invitational where the women placed fifth with 62.5 points and the men placed fourth with 74 points.
Cole Martin had many strong performances for Maine including placing first in the 100m with a time of 10.65 which also placed Martin second on Maine's all-time top-10 list. In the 200m Martin placed sixth (22.06). Lastly he was a part of the men's 4 X 400 relay team that placed first (42.27).
Ben Cotton placed second in the long jump with a mark of 6.34m.
Nathan Holst-Grubbe earned first in the hammer with a mark of 57.90m which also placed him third on Maine's all-time top-10 list. Holst-Grubbe also placed sixth in the discus (44.99m).
Stella Inman set a new University of Maine record in the women's discus with a mark of 46.91m that brought her to first on Maine's all-time top-10 list - while also placing first in the meet. Inman also placed fifth in the shot put (11.83m).
Cheyenne Figueroa placed second in the hammer throw (55.06m) while also moving into fifth on Maine's all time top 10 list. Figueroa also placed third in the discus (43.73m) while also moving to second on Maine's all-time top-10 list.
Jessica Kroushl and Julia Feid each beat personal records to remain tenth on Maine's all-time top-10 list in their respective events. Kroushl with a time of 12.38 in the 100m, placing fourth and Feid in the javelin (43.44m) finishing second.
