Jeremiah Jenkins was named the Conferences Player of the Week for his performance against Binghamton in a 2-1 weekend for the Black Bears.
Jenkins, a native of Upper Marlboro, MD, has been one of the most dominate hitters in the country over the past two weekends. For the second-straight week Jenkins has been named the Player of the Week as he slashed .555/.688/1.556 against Binghamton. He hit two homeruns, had nine RBI's, a triple, a double and drew five walks for the Black Bears. This is the second-straight week that Jenkins has had two home run's and nine RBI's. Jenkins leads the conference in almost every offensive category.
Maine who is off the their best conference start in America East history at 11-1, has a conference bye week but will remain busy with five home baseball games. The Black Bears kick off the week with a matchup on Thursday, Apr. 20 against Thomas College before welcoming the Hartford Hawks for a weekend series. Saturday is the Black Bear Bash/Youth Day at Mahaney Diamond. Maine rounds out the home stand with a single game against Merrimack College on Tuesday, Apr. 25.
