Orono, ME - The America East Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon that University of Maine first basemen, Jeremiah Jenkins, was named the America East Player of the Week for his performances against UAlbany in a weekend sweep at Mahaney Diamond.

Jenkins, a Sophomore out of Upper Marlboro, MD, slashed .615/.708/1.077 in the 3-0 weekend sweep of UAlbany. Jenkins drove in 9 RBI's on the weekend, including a 6 RBI performance on Friday, along with a pair of home runs, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. He also scored 3 runs on the weekend.

Maine is off to a 9-0 America East start, their best start since 1991 (13-0 NAC) in conference only games. Maine travels to Binghamton University (5-1 - 2nd Place) for a key weekend series against the Bearcats. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3:00 P.M.
