Preview: #8 Boston University Up Next for #9 Men's Hockey

The Hockey East gauntlet continues with a trip to Boston for two games against the Terriers.

ORONO, Maine – The #9 University of Maine men's hockey team will travel to Boston this weekend for two Hockey East tilts against #8 Boston University at Agganis Arena.

Puck drop between the Black Bears and Terriers is set for 7 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. Both contests will stream on ESPN+, with Friday's contest will also air live on NESN and TSN5.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
• The University of Maine and Boston University will meet twice this weekend at Agganis Arena.
• Maine is coming off of a 1-0-1 weekend against a then top-ranked Boston College squad … the Black Bears won on Friday night, 4-2, and then battled to a 1-1 tie on Saturday.
• The Terriers swept a home-and-home series with UMass Lowell, earning a 3-2 road win and a 6-1 victory at Agganis Arena.
• Boston University swept last season's series by winning two games at Agganis Arena and one game at Alfond Arena.
• This is the first top-10 meeting between these two teams since March 16, 2012 when a #10/11 Maine team beat #5 BU, 5-3, in the Hockey East Tournament semifinals.

A WIN ON FRIDAY WOULD...
• Bump the Black Bears to 7-1-1 on the season and 4-0-1 in Hockey East play ... it would be Maine's first time going unbeaten in the first five conference games since the 2010-11 season.
• Move Maine to 57-73-14 all-time against Boston University and 2-5-0 under head coach Ben Barr.

• The Black Bears are coming off of a 1-0-1 weekend against #1 Boston College … Maine earned a 4-2 win on Friday night and then battled the Eagles to a 2-2 tie on Saturday, with BC getting an extra league point with the shootout win.
• Eleven different Black Bears found the box score in the series against the Eagles, with Lynden Breen and Josh Nadeau both finishing the weekend with three points on one goal and two assists … Harrison Scott had a league-leading 28 face-off wins, including a single-game high of 17 on Friday night.
• Maine has six players with at least five points each ... 18 different skaters have registered at least one point while the team has 12 different goal scorers.
• Victor Östman sits at 6-1-1 with a 2.09 goals against average and .908 save percentage.

• The Terriers swept a home-and-home series with UMass Lowell this past weekend, earning a 3-2 road win and then a 6-1 victory at home.
• Macklin Celebrini has a team-leading 18 points off of eight goals and 10 assists … Luke Tuch (4-8-12), Lane Hutson (8-3-11) and Jeremy Wilmer (0-10-10) have each hit double-digit points for BU.
