VESTAL, N.Y. – The University of Maine women's soccer team took on first-place Binghamton on the road on Sunday, battling the Bearcats to a 2-2 America East tie.

Maine moves to 9-1-5 overall and 4-1-2 in America East while Binghamton goes to 5-4-6 overall and remains in first place in the conference at 4-0-3.

Maine took a 2-0 lead less than 20 minutes into the conference contest.
Lara Kirkby got the scoring started in the fourth minute, cleaning up a cross from
Emma Schneider.
Abby Kraemer then converted a penalty kick in the 19th minute for her America East-leading 11th goal of the season.

Binghamton pulled a goal back late in the first half and then equalized 15 minutes into the second half.

The Black Bears pressed for a game-winning goal, taking the last six shot attempts of the contest, but were unable to find the back of the net.

- Maine had the 10-9 lead in shots ... shots on goal were equal at five each.
- Binghamton had a 4-3 lead in corners.
- Abby Kraemer led Maine with a game-high six shots.
