BOSTON -- The University of Maine men's ice hockey team was defeated by the #5 Boston University Terriers, 5-1, on Friday evening in Agganis Arena.

First Goal (1-0 #5 BU): 1:53 into the game, the Terriers scored a power play goal. The Black Bears took a penalty 00:10 into the Hockey East contest. Luke Tuch recorded the first shot on goal of the power play, while also scoring the first goal of the game. The lead would soon grow.

Second Goal (2-0 #5 BU): Matt Brown, as a five minute major was called on Maine, scored the second goal of the first four minutes of the contest. The forward led a 2-on-1 chance that
Victor Ostman was unable to defend. Maine trailed by two early in the contest.

Third Goal (3-0 #5 BU): After forcing a turnover between the face-off dots, Nick Zabaneh and Sam Stevens went the length of the ice and scored their squads their goal of the evening. The Maine defense was unable to neutralize the attack as the deficit grew to three.

Fourth Goal (4-0 #5 BU): With traffic in front of the Maine net, Jay O'Brien tipped home another goal for the Terriers. Lane Hutson let go of a shot from the blue line that deflected off O'Brien. Maine was looking at a 4-0 mountain.

Fifth Goal (4-1 #5 BU): While a delayed penalty was signaled,
Cole Hanson scored his six goal of the season.
Ben Poisson's pass went through the BU zone before Hanson picked it up. The forward found space and fired. At the end of 40:00, Maine trailed 4-1.

Sixth Goal (5-1 #5 BU): Devin Kaplan added another goal for the Terriers. Once again, a delayed penalty was signaled before the goal crossed the line. It was the final goal of the night as Maine fell 5-1.

Notes: Victor Ostman saved 28 shots in net for the Black Bears, while Drew Commesso stopped 30 shots between the pipes for BU.

Maine went 0 for 3 on the power play, as the Terriers were 1-4 on its player advantages.
