ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's soccer team tied the NJIT Highlanders, 0-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Mahaney Diamond.

The first America East game of the 2022 season was tied 0-0 after the first 45 minutes.

The final 45 minutes of the rainy contest also ended in a scoreless tie. Maine's two shots on goal during the second half were stopped by the Highlanders' goalkeeper.

Maine recorded 20 total shots on goal to the Highlanders' three, while NJIT tallied five corner kicks to the Black Bears' six.

Emma Donovan recorded two shots on goal, while Birte Speck fired four total shots.

Kira Kutzinski turned away one shot during her second tie of the season.

Next: The Black Bears are back on the pitch Thursday, September 22nd at Sacred Heart. The non-conference match-up is scheduled to kick-off at 7:30 pm.
